July 14, 2010, Macon, GA—Curious about your social security benefits, working out, events in the community or what resources are available for new mothers!?  You can find out that and more by attending the COMMUNITY FAIR on Saturday, July 17 from noon to 5 pm at Macon Mall.  Shoppers pick up a participation form at the Macon Mall table and travel from exhibitor to exhibitor and enter to win the $50 Belk gift card to be awarded at 5 pm.

Located in the Belk lower level, over 10 exhibitors will be spreading the word on the programs and services offered right here in the Macon community.

 “The community fair is Macon Mall’s way to serve the community,” said Lili Donaldson, senior marketing manager.  “Instead of individual organizations setting up tables on different weekends, we bring these groups together, quarterly, to provide a more interactive experience.”  Many of these organizations will be providing handouts, giveaways and in some cases a chance to win a prize.

Events at Macon Mall this weekend

In addition, ART SPACE tenants will offer a hands-on art experiences in the east corridor at their individual locations from 2 to 4pm, free to the shoppers.  A flyer will be available at the Macon Mall table in the Belk court directing customers to the participating ART SPACE tenants.

KIDS WORLD, Macon Mall’s monthly kids club meeting, will welcome Angela Bates, park ranger interpretation from Ocmulgee National Monument.  She will bring a travel trunk filled with tools that represent the Mississippian culture.  These tools were used between 900-1540 A.D.  She will talk about what their daily life was like 1,000 years ago!  Kids and their parents will also learn about the time periods from the Ice Age to the Mississippians.  This one-hour event kicks off at 1 pm in at the upper food court near the carousel.
